Google Play Prominent Location & Background Tracking Disclosure

The Shipberg and Shipberg Driver mobile applications access, collect, and process location data—including precise GPS coordinates (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION), approximate network location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION), and background location (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION)—to enable real-time vehicle fleet tracking, driver navigation, geofenced automated milestone alerts, and live transit ETAs for assigned shippers and transporters, EVEN WHEN THE APP IS CLOSED OR NOT IN USE, during an active assigned trip or driver duty session.

1. Categories of Location Data Accessed & Collected

Precise GPS Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Continuous latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading coordinates to accurately monitor vehicle progress along assigned transit corridors.
Approximate Location Data (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Cellular tower and network-derived coarse location estimates.
Background Location Data (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION): Continuous location telemetry captured during active deliveries or when driver status is set to "On Duty", ensuring dispatchers and cargo owners receive uninterrupted, dependable shipment progress even if the app is minimized, locked, or closed.

2. Purpose of Location Data Access

Location data is accessed exclusively for core logistics operations and app functionality:

Real-time vehicle and freight fleet monitoring across active transit routes.
Automated geofenced milestone alerts for arrivals and departures at loading hubs, toll plazas, and destination docks.
Turn-by-turn route optimization, driver transit navigation, and dynamic delivery ETAs.
Automated electronic proof of delivery (e-POD) verification.

3. Third-Party Sharing & Strict Non-Sale Commitment

Location data is shared solely with verified stakeholders mapped to that specific cargo transaction (shippers, transporters, and consignees) and essential mapping infrastructure (Google Maps APIs).
Strict Non-Sale Guarantee: Shipberg NEVER sells, rents, licenses, or trades precise GPS coordinates, real-time telemetry, or background location data to advertisers, data brokers, or commercial marketing agencies.

4. Managing Device Location Permissions

Drivers and users retain complete control over device permissions. Location access can be modified or revoked at any time:
Android Settings > Apps > Shipberg > Permissions > Location > Select "Allow all the time" or "Allow only while using the app".
